Synopsis

Matter Matters is a visual arts exhibition that reflects on the Asian Film Archive's role in Southeast Asia. It looks at the archive through an archaeological lens, bringing together various Southeast Asian artists to reconstruct and speculate on lost film cultures via the archive. Together, they present alternative voices and counter histories, celebrating the archive and its potential to uncover untold stories, missing pieces of history and culture and bring people together.
