How to join:
The Red Pencil (Singapore), facilitated by art therapist Colette Alexandratos
Colette holds a Masters degree in Art Therapy from Lasalle College of the Arts, Singapore. She is a registered member of The Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA), Art Therapists' Association Singapore (ATAS) and HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) in the UK.
Colette's journey into art therapy began with her belief in the power that the art making process holds. Colette has always been fascinated by how art can be used as a medium to express emotions that are difficult to verbalize and how it can augment the therapeutic process. This led her to pursue a career where she could combine her love for art with her desire to support others.
Having trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, Colette takes on a person-centred approach to support her client's journey. She has gained valuable experience working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents and adults, facing various challenges such as anxiety and depression, emotionally based school avoidance and eating disorders as well with children with inherent physiological conditions such as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Colette's values lay within empowering individuals and supporting growth, transformation, insight and awareness through the art making process.
Colette's experiences as an art therapist as well as a practicing and professional artist have guided her journey on how art can be utilized in discovering one's self and the potential it holds in a therapeutic and insightful capacity, as it was through art, that Colette found her voice.
