Playing with Clay 三代同堂玩陶乐
3Arts is a ceramics studio focused on teaching and growing a community of people passionate about the artform. Their teachers, including master potter Tom with 20 years of experience teaching pottery, guide students through a robust curriculum to achieve their fullest potential in pottery. We are located in a quaint house at the Yards, surrounded by greenery. Spread across 184,000 sqf of space, the Yards is the former primary school of our beloved founding father Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew and we are excited that you will be able to uncover more secrets about the heritage at the Yards and surrounding historial Peranakan Joo Chiat neighbourhood at our event.
Over the 7 days of Art Week, we have many activities in store for you such as a ceramics exhibition with over 15 artists’ works on display, clay-making demonstrations, panel discussion, ‘How ceramics is made?’ show and tell exhibition and more. Our team consists of artists from all age groups, 16 to 73 years old. We will feature young, emerging artists, as well as artistic ceramic legacies, and will use the Art Week platform to present inter-generational artistic collaborations between our ceramic artists at the ceramics exhibition. We are located at the Yards, which is also conveniently situated next to the Telok Kurau Art Studios where many famous local artists reside; if the artists there are having their own events too, that will further create unique art experiences for all our visitors.
