Featuring works of monumental scale, the exhibit aims to rediscover the roots, meanings, and significance of light to artists from or based in Southeast Asia — whether light is evoked and expressed through nature, spirituality, knowledge, or community. Serving as a platform to test the possibilities of light and illumination, the show ultimately begs the following questions: From where does light come to Southeast Asians? How far — high or wide — can light spread? And to what extent can
light guide or blind?
