Transcending and expanding her practice from the physical to the digital realm, Cheryl Chiw employs the medium of AR technology to "transport" ubiquitous construction materials from her sculptural work into spaces within the CBD. In pre-pandemic times, the CBD was the heart of Singapore’s economic activity, filled with the hustle and bustle of office workers. It has since lost its vibes, a sense of quiet fills the space. One is confronted by the towering skyscrapers which seem devoid of human activity due to work-from-home WFH default. Yet, there is continued construction and new office buildings springing up. Through the use of photogrammatery scans, Cheryl seeks to create an awareness of art and architecture.
