Lite On! @ Downtown East

Lite On! @Downtown East brings together a specially curated group of local artists to showcase four different art and light installations in an interactive and visual spectacle for everyone.

With the overarching theme of light, each installation will interpret light in the day and night in their own unique ways.

Chinese traditional calligraphy is a unique form of Visual Arts. The art pieces are created by Teo Lee Lang’s life experiences through her expression of skills or creation. The artist will eagerly like to share her inspiration and enthusiasm in Chinese writing and culture via brush, ink and papers and how these three combinations have been inspiring people around the world for centuries.

Presenting contemporary art works and archival material that nuance Afro-Asian legacies that grew out of the Cold War, this exhibition traces a historical line between early regional imaginations such as Maphilindo to contemporary appropriations of Afro-Asian histories, such as China’s development of cultural infrastructure in Senegal.
