Sensuous --- Kumiko Matsushima Solo Exhibition 2.0 in SG

Synopsis

"Sensuous" is a Kumiko's new series, acrylic painting on canvases.  Kumiko attempts to embody sweet and luscious feeling on canvases by bold brush strokes and thick application of paint in many colours.  Being a Japanese, Kumiko grew up in a society which is somewhat rigid.  She got neurotic depression in that tense atmosphere.  Later on, she found herself freer in the United States and Hong Kong.  In these relaxed environments, we can breathe freely.  And we enjoy expressing ourselves faithfully to our instincts and senses rather than the intellect.  ”Sensuous" series is to celebrate human being's basic instincts and senses.
