Synopsis

Monuments presents images as tactile objects—touched, held, shaped. Stemming from walks through Singapore’s public spaces, the artist collects everyday traces—a puzzle piece, a fossilised footprint, a dead rat—as contemporary archaeology. These fragments, impressed onto raw surfaces, form an alternative urban archive. The work reflects on how we inhabit space and leave behind echoes of ourselves, offering intimate glimpses into loss, memory, and meaning woven into city life.
