Synopsis

La Vie en Strass by Shourouk Rhaiem transforms everyday items, like coffee cans and dish soap bottles, into glittering sculptures using Swarovski crystals and other materials. These pieces are deeply personal, symbolizing memories and Rhaiem’s yearning for familial harmony, with the Ricoré coffee can serving as a key motif of her childhood ideal. The exhibition highlights the intersection of personal history and collective memory, encouraging viewers to see the mundane as extraordinary and meaningful. Rhaiem’s unique approach bridges fashion, design, and fine art, expanding her celebrated jewelry career into new realms. With her pieces worn by icons such as Lady Gaga and Michelle Obama, La Vie en Strass invites us to rediscover the familiar and reshape it into bold expressions of identity and aspiration, offering fresh perspectives on luxury and materiality.
