Synopsis

Explore the whimsical and surreal world of David Leung in Allure of Seeing Beyond, where art and technology converge to create something extraordinary. Leung, a Hong Kong-based photographer renowned for his "Symmetrical Pareidolism" technique, transforms everyday food into stunning works of art by mirroring food images to reveal hidden faces. His unique artistic approach challenges perceptions and invites viewers to reimagine the simple act of dining through the lens of pareidolia—a psychological phenomenon where people see faces in inanimate objects.

Set in the elegant space of Hearth at 41 Craig Road, this Singapore Art Week 2025 showcase goes beyond visual art. Leung’s surreal food photography is paired with an exclusive menu curated by Chef Koki Miyoshi, bringing the exhibition full circle by intertwining culinary artistry with visual imagination. This multi-sensory experience invites audiences to look beyond the obvious and discover the hidden wonders that surround them in everyday life.
