Synopsis

Unrealized Projects (UP), a site-specific installation, explores Singaporean identity through incomplete or failed art concepts in a historic shopfront. Its very location challenges the tenets of today's international art world: dense, technologically advanced, bureaucratic, asking instead, where else can art belong?

Select images and texts navigate tensions of negation and affirmation, discretion and display that riddle the city's art practices, thus offering a window to 21st century Singapore.

Curators: Melvin Tan, Suzi Teo

Artists: Chong Lii, Luca Lam
