Synopsis

Shared Currents: Japanese Contemporary Visions assembles nineteen of Japan’s foremost artists—eighteen in ceramics and one in painting—whose works seamlessly fuse traditional mastery with bold innovation. Spanning refined vessels to dynamic sculptural forms, the exhibition highlights the breadth and vitality of contemporary Japanese art.

These artists, united by sensitivity to their materials and a contemplative approach to their craft, each contribute a distinctive voice to an ongoing conversation between tradition and the present. Shared Currents invites viewers to discover the tactile and poetic qualities at the heart of Japanese artistry and to engage with the enduring craftsmanship that continues to shape Japan’s international legacy in the art world.
