Synopsis

Oevaali Art Gallery presents a curated exhibition of contemporary Maldivian art in Singapore during Singapore Art Week. Showcasing painting-led practices, the presentation explores themes of identity, memory, and place, offering nuanced perspectives shaped by island life. Through this exhibition, Oevaali Art Gallery introduces Singapore audiences to compelling artistic voices from the Maldives, fostering regional dialogue and expanding contemporary art narratives within Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean region.
