Synopsis

Cuturi Gallery presents Metamorphosis, curated by independent curator and art historian Syed Muhammad Hafiz. The exhibition brings together regional artists Anniketyni Madian (Malaysia), Meta Enjelita (Indonesia), and Khairulddin Wahab (Singapore), with works in dialogue with the late Singaporean batik modernist Jaafar Latiff. Through new responses to Latiff’s ideas and legacy, Metamorphosis highlights the richness of contemporary practices across the Malay Archipelago, exploring how they challenge and reframe notions of art, craft, and tradition.
A dialogue session between the participating artists will be held during the exhibition, moderated by the exhibition curator, Syed Muhammad Hafiz.
